THL Accountancy Ltd is committed to respecting diversity and inclusion within the accountancy profession both as a membership, student body and as an employer.
We understand that the value of diversity and inclusion isn’t simply derived from being more representative of the population. Diversity is about what makes each of us unique and encouraging people from different ages, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, income and background, and personality to work together more effectively. Inclusion is the extent to which we feel valued and included.
THL Accountancy Ltd promote diversity and inclusion by:
- Treating everyone with respect and fairly.
- Valuing and recognising people and individuals.
- Ensuring equal access to opportunities for members, students, and staff, and all those who use our services.
- Recognising the individual needs of those we represent, educate and employ.
- Carrying out our representative, educational and regulatory functions without prejudice, in a respectful and non-discriminatory manner.
- Ensuring our policies, procedures and processes promote diversity, inclusion, and equality.
THL Accountancy Ltd commitment
We will treat all individuals and groups of individuals fairly and equally and no less favourably, specific to their needs, in areas of race, class, gender, disability, religion or belief, marital status, family status, sexual orientation and age.
As an accredited probate firm, we are required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to maintain a record of staff diversity. The information below is based on data from our staff survey in March 2025. Please see below some of our results that contains less sensitive data to protect confidentiality of the team members who completed the survey:
| Age | |
|---|---|
| 16-24 | 20% |
| 25-34 | 60% |
| 35-44 | 10% |
| 45-64 | 12.5% |
| Gender | |
|---|---|
| Female | 50% |
| Male | 50% |
| Caring Responsibilities (Children under 18) | |
|---|---|
| Yes | 31.25% |
| No | 68.75% |
| Maternity Leave (in last 5 years) | |
|---|---|
| Yes | 0% |
| No | 100% |
| Marital Status | |
|---|---|
| Single | 68.75% |
| Married | 12.5% |
| Divorced | 6.25% |
| Other | 12.5% |
The proportion of staff with caring responsibilities has remained consistent with the results of our previous ICAEW Diversity Survey which was carried out in March 2023. The gender balance has shifted slightly and now reflects an even 50/50 split.
There has also been a minor shift in the age distribution of our staff. We observed a decrease in the number of individuals aged 25–34, an increase in those aged 35–44, and a new representation in the 45–54 age bracket, which was not previously recorded.
We will use the insights gained from this survey to inform our internal policies, enhance inclusivity initiatives, and ensure our workplace environment continues to support and reflect the diverse needs of our team.
